Edward R. Truitt is a former professional ballet dancer and now professor of dance at West Texas A&M University. He studied photography with his father, James T. Truitt Sr. famous award winning military and portrait photographer. James T. Truitt Sr photographed kings, queens, presidents, celebrity's, politicians, air disasters, airplanes in flight, and some of his work has been displayed in the Smithsonian and at the Strategic Air and Space Museum. Mr. Truitt apprenticed with his father after his professional career as a ballet dancer ended due to injuries. He worked at Truitt/Seeley Photography Studio in Tacoma WA as photographer and studio manager for seven years before returning to academia to pursue a university teaching career. Mr. Truitt worked as a professional photographer for 15 years and has just returned to photography after a 10 year respite to focus on dance photography and portraits.
